Creating a Strong Password

What is a strong password? How to create one?

Passwords that are very difficult to guess and intercept by trial and error are called strong passwords. In order for a password to be difficult to crack, it should be composed of at least 3 different types of characters such as lowercase, uppercase and numbers. If possible, use passwords that also contain special characters.

For your security, you should change your passwords periodically. Using different passwords for different applications or systems will provide extra security. The longer and more complex your passwords are, the more secure you will be.

You can create a strong password by hand or with the help of password creation tools that you can easily find on the internet.

Target maximum length

Some systems allow a maximum of 8 characters, while others may allow 16 or 32 characters. Create a password with the maximum number of characters allowed by the system that you can easily remember.

Don't create your password with only numbers or letters

We've taken the first step in creating an effective password, but our password for 123456789 is still easily guessable. Just like numbers, a password like “qwertyuıo” can be easily cracked. Mixing letters and numbers in your password makes it more effective and unpredictable. In this step, you can also choose to use uppercase and lowercase letters to make your password more secure. For example, the password “1A2vXb78t” would take months to guess or, according to 123456789, to crack by trial and error.

Use special characters in your password

As a user, if you want to maximize the security of your password, there is only one step left to complete. Now you need to add external characters to your secure password. It won't make much difference if they are common characters or not, but using rare characters will help you to have a stronger password. Now compare the password “1?A,vX!7_t” and “123456789”. Which password do you think will be easier to crack?
