Antivirus

What is an antivirus program?

Antivirus programs are the general name given to protective programs that are written against viruses and perform cleaning and recovery operations.  Antivirus programs follow various methods to find, quarantine/delete viruses.

For an antivirus program to be good, it should generally have the following features.

  •  It should be constantly updated by the manufacturer and contain the latest virus definitions.
  •  It should be a reliable and high quality program.
  •  It should have a solid infrastructure and virus database.
  •  It should have advanced security features to detect other malware.
  •  It should not have a dramatic impact on system performance.

Why are antivirus programs constantly updated?

Every day thousands of new viruses are released on the internet by malicious people. In order for the antivirus programs installed on computers to catch these viruses, the virus must be predefined in the antivirus program's database.

In order to detect the latest viruses and malware, manufacturers constantly update their antivirus programs and save the latest virus definitions in the antivirus program database. This is why antivirus programs are frequently updated automatically. An outdated antivirus program cannot provide the necessary protection for the computer.
